I´ve discoverd recently a great resource for web icons which will drastically improve your web interface. It includes over 700 small images (16×16) and I quote:
“And all for a low low price of $0.00. You can’t say fairer than that.”

Google have announced their new operating system, named Chrome OS. It has been said to include a range of features and due for release mid way through 2010.
Unlike most OSs, Chrome OS like most Google products is very much web-based using online apps like GMail etc.
“Google Chrome OS is an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at netbooks. Later this year we will open-source its code, and netbooks running Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010. Because we’re already talking to partners about the project, and we’ll soon be working with the open source community, we wanted to share our vision now so everyone understands what we are trying to achieve.” Officical Google Blog
Google are going to be facing tough competition with Windows XP holding the majority of netbook OSs and Intel developing their own lightweight OS. I know I am looking forward to seeing what Google can make of it, tell me what you think with a comment below.

The fundamental basis of HTML, they simply have to be mentioned here.
These are just a hand-full of all the great addons available for the Firefox browser by Mozilla, whether it’s web development or social networking you’re interested in these have all helped me at one point.
Web Development
- 1. Colorzilla

Colorzilla is a tiny addon which allows you hover over any web page and find the hex code of the colour. Extremely handy when you love a color on a different website.
Dropbox is the ultimate in file synchronisation over the internet. It is a small running, multi-platform program which keeps a folder between multiple computers the same so that you can access your work from which ever computer you’re in front.

I personally use it all the time so that all my website work is kept up to date on my different computers. It’s also very handy keeping a current version of your work between your desktop your laptop.
Over the last couple of months I have been bookmarked any great looking website I came across for inspiration at a later date. Here are some of the sites which I really like, I also like the fact that their style varies enormously.
1. www.brianwebdesign.com

This is just one of those things where you never know when you might need it, add it to your collection. Once setup it’s quite simple and quick to send an e-mail using the the Gnome-Terminal (or equivalent) in Linux.

I’m a great fan of StumbleUpon, I use it every day and end up spending hours with it. Over the last few days, as well as stumbling, I’ve also been working on this blog so that I can write and preach to the world about certain topics, mainly web design. I’ve also been looking at social networks and ways to promote websites.
Here are some websites and blogs which I thought were super handy and very interesting for website design. They range from good things to bad things, 7 things to 70 things but each one is a great piece of work.
If you’ve ever made a slick new menu for a website but you hate the fact that each time when you click on a link a dotted line appears around it then here’s your answer.
